Finland State Forest Dispersed Area
This state forest offers scattered dispersed camping opportunities along several forest roads northeast of Finland. The sites are primitive with no facilities — just pull-offs in thick boreal forest of aspen, birch, and spruce. Most spots accommodate one or two rigs with established fire rings from previous campers. Expect mud and standing water in spring, and excellent fall colors in late September.
Access via County Road 6 then various unnumbered forest roads — some require high-clearance but most are passable by any vehicle in dry conditions. No signs marking camping areas, just look for obvious use patterns. Popular with hunters in fall, nearly empty other times. Cell service spotty to nonexistent.
