Mount Elizabeth Station Campground — Gibb River Road
Mount Elizabeth Station sits about 100km north of the Gibb River Road on a rough 4WD track and is one of the most remote overnight stops in the entire Kimberley. The campground is run by the station itself — basic but real: cleared ground, long-drop toilets, and cold showers on a good day. You’re on a working cattle property here, not a national park. The feel is authentic outback — open sky, red dirt, and the kind of quiet that only exists 200km from anywhere. Fuel is available but supply can be erratic, so don’t count on it as your only option. Small fees apply, payable to the station.
Access is via the signed turnoff from the Gibb River Road. The track is corrugated 4WD-required dirt, usually passable in a well-set-up rig but not for trailers. Closed during the wet season (roughly November–April). Phone ahead when possible — station staff manage bookings directly and numbers are limited.
Remote cattle station camp, deep Kimberley.
