You’ll navigate the active fumarole fields around Miravalles Volcano, ford the sulfur-laden Río Blanco, and climb the unstable pumice slopes leading to Tenorio’s hidden crater lake. The stretch between Bagaces and the Miravalles geothermal plant is pure punishment — loose volcanic rock that’ll shred tires if you’re moving too fast.
