Trough Creek State Park Campground
Trough Creek runs along a limestone gorge with 32 sites split between electric and primitive areas. The primitive sites (17-32) back up to Trough Creek itself and offer more space for larger rigs. Electric sites are tighter but have water hookups. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a small camp store. The park’s narrow valley setting keeps things cool even in summer heat.
Access via PA Route 994 about 6 miles south of James Creek. The park sits perfectly positioned for exploring Rothrock State Forest roads and serves as an alternative base to busier Raystown Lake campgrounds. Open April through mid-December, though some facilities close after October.
