Tracy Ridge Dispersed Area
Remote dispersed camping scattered along the Tracy Ridge Trail system and connecting forest roads in Allegheny National Forest. Sites range from roadside pull-offs to short hike-in spots with sweeping views over the Allegheny Reservoir. Most spots accommodate 2-4 vehicles with established fire rings and basic clear areas for tents. Popular with hunters in fall, nearly empty mid-week during summer.
Access from Route 59 via Forest Road 262, becoming increasingly rough dirt with stream crossings. High-clearance recommended, 4WD useful in wet conditions. No water, no facilities, pack everything out. Road conditions deteriorate significantly in spring mud season and after storms.
