Toledo Bend Reservoir South Toledo Bend State Park

Established Campground

Sprawling state park on the Louisiana shore of Toledo Bend Reservoir with 64 campsites ranging from primitive to full hookup. The lakefront sites offer shade under mature pines and direct water access. Busy on summer weekends but quieter during shoulder seasons. Clean bathhouse facilities and a decent swimming beach for cooling off after dusty trail runs.

Popular base camp for overlanders hitting the Sabine trails — only 20 minutes from Forest Road 276 and other backcountry routes. The boat ramp handles big rigs, and there’s a camp store for basic supplies. Reserve ahead for lakefront sites during peak season.
