Corney Lake USFS Campground
Corney Lake offers 15 primitive campsites scattered around a small fishing lake surrounded by longleaf pines. Sites are spacious and well-separated, with fire rings, picnic tables, and vault toilets. No hookups or showers, but there’s a boat launch and fishing pier. The lake is stocked with bass and bream, and you’ll often have the place to yourself midweek.
Access is via Forest Road 59 off Highway 117 — the last 3 miles are gravel but fine for any vehicle. Popular with local bass fishermen on weekends during spring and fall, but rarely crowded. No reservations taken, and sites fill on a first-come basis during hunting seasons.
