Sabine River Old Ferry Landing
This weathered boat ramp and landing marks where the old Pendleton Ferry carried vehicles across the Sabine River until the 1950s. A few concrete remnants and an old ferry cable anchor remain visible at low water. The site sits in a bend of the river with towering cypress and tupelo creating a cathedral canopy. It’s a peaceful spot to stretch legs and soak up some regional history.
Access via a short dirt spur off Highway 6 west of Many. The road can get soft after rain, but most vehicles can make it. No facilities here—just the river, some shade, and the ghosts of countless crossings. Watch for fishing lines if locals are working the hole.
