Susquehanna State Forest Hunts Run Campground
Hunts Run sits at 1,800 feet elevation in dense second-growth forest, offering 15 primitive sites with fire rings and picnic tables. No potable water or flush facilities — pit toilets and a hand pump well serve the camp. Sites handle rigs up to 30 feet on mostly level ground. Popular with hunters in fall, quiet most other times. No reservations, first-come basis.
Access via 4 miles of gravel forest road off Route 154, passable by any vehicle in dry conditions but can get muddy after heavy rain. Open May through hunting season, weather permitting. Excellent base for exploring the extensive Loyalsock Trail system and accessing remote state forest roads.
