Loyalsock State Forest Rock Run Road Dispersed Camping
Multiple primitive sites scattered along Rock Run Road offering camping in a beautiful wooded gorge with crystal-clear swimming holes and native brook trout. Sites range from roadside pull-offs to short hike-in spots along the creek. Fire rings present at most established spots, though bring your own water or filter from the creek. Popular with anglers and gets crowded on summer weekends.
Road requires high-clearance vehicle after the first mile — rocky, rutted, and washed out in places. Impassable when wet. Spring through fall only; gates typically closed November through March. No cell service but incredible star visibility.
