Sheyenne National Grassland Oak Creek Dispersed Sites
A handful of primitive sites scattered along Oak Creek in classic North Dakota prairie pothole country. The setting is wide-open grassland with scattered wetlands and minimal tree cover — bring your own shade and prepare for wind. Sites can accommodate any size rig on the level prairie, though positioning for wind protection takes some thought. The area draws waterfowl hunters in fall and prairie birders through the warmer months.
Access via county roads and grassland trails off Highway 32 — surfaces vary from maintained gravel to rough two-track depending on the specific site. Some routes can get soft after heavy rain. No facilities whatsoever, and the nearest services are in Lisbon 25 miles east. Cell coverage is surprisingly good for the remote location.
