Pocahontas State Park Campground
Pocahontas sprawls across 7,950 acres of mixed hardwood forest with 64 campsites split between two loops. Sites are spacious with good tree cover, most offering electric and water hookups. The park centers around 150-acre Beaver Lake, popular for fishing and non-motorized boating. Extensive trail system includes 12 miles of hiking trails plus mountain bike and bridle trails.
Located off State Route 655, the park stays busy on weekends from April through October. Reservations recommended, especially for sites near the lake. Cell service is generally good throughout the campground. Swimming beach operates seasonally with lifeguards.
