Pine Grove Furnace State Park Fuller Lake
Fuller Lake sits in a natural bowl surrounded by wooded hills, created when the Pine Grove Iron Furnace dammed Mountain Creek in the 1760s. The 1.7-acre lake is perfect for a quick swim after hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail or exploring the furnace ruins. The beach area has a small sand strip and grassy picnic spots, though it gets busy on summer weekends. Water is clear and typically swimmable from May through September.
Park at the main lot near the mansion and walk about 200 yards to the lake. The Appalachian Trail Museum is nearby if you want to combine history with your water break. Swimming is free with park admission, and there are restrooms and changing areas at the beach. No lifeguards, so swim at your own risk.
