Overlander Sports — 50 Street Yellowknife Camping, Winter Gear and Northern Outfitter
Overlander Sports sits on 50 Street in downtown Yellowknife and has been outfitting northerners since 1983. It’s a proper gear store, not a souvenir shop. Tents and shelters from MSR, Big Agnes, Eureka and Mountain Hardwear, plus camp furniture, camping food, bottles and thermoses, and bug and sun protection. They also carry cold-weather layers that earn their keep up here. It’s a small-town independent, so the shelves are tuned to what people in the Northwest Territories actually use.
Don’t expect winches, lift kits or recovery boards. This is a camp-and-clothing stop. Come here to top up before Prelude Lake, the Ingraham Trail or a push toward Fred Henne and beyond. Heading up the Dempster or onto winter roads, sort out your layers and camp kit here. Hours change and stock turns over, so verify ahead. Last we saw, it was closed Sundays and statutory holidays. Have a dirty day.
Yellowknife's old-school northern gear stop.
