Ottawa National Forest Lake Ottawa Dispersed Area
Small lake surrounded by mixed hardwood forest with about six established dispersed sites around the perimeter. Sites are fairly tight – 20 feet max for RVs – but offer good privacy and lake access. Decent bass and panfish population. Fire rings at most sites, but bring your own wood as local supply gets picked over. Loons and eagles common.
Four miles on Forest Road 2150 from US-2, mostly good gravel but watch for washouts after spring runoff. Road can be muddy in spots during wet periods. No facilities whatsoever. Best accessed May through September. Mining history evident with old test pits and equipment scattered in the woods.
Secluded lake camping in UP mining country.
