Ottawa National Forest Bewabic State Park Overflow Dispersed Area
Located on national forest land bordering Bewabic State Park, this dispersed area serves as unofficial overflow when the state park fills up. About 8-10 sites scattered through mixed hardwoods, most with fire rings and decent separation. Several sites offer direct access to Fortune Lake for fishing and water sports. Popular with anglers during walleye runs in May and June. No facilities but well-established camping spots.
Access via County Road 424 from Crystal Falls, continue past state park entrance for 1.2 miles to forest boundary. Sites are 0.1 to 0.3 miles off the main road on maintained two-tracks. Any vehicle can reach most sites. Gets muddy in spring—best after mid-May when ground firms up.
