Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest — Eightmile Campground
Eightmile sits right along Icicle Creek about eight miles up Icicle Road from Leavenworth, tucked under big ponderosa and fir. It’s a developed USFS campground with vault toilets and bear boxes — no hookups, no nonsense. Gets busy on summer weekends with hikers heading into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, but mid-week it thins out fast. Creek noise all night, good shade, and a legit water source running cold even in August.
Access is paved most of the way up Icicle Road, transitioning to gravel near camp. Any rig gets in here fine. No reservations — first come, first served at time of research, but verify with the Leavenworth Ranger District before you go. Season typically May through October depending on snowpack. No cell signal worth mentioning once you’re up the canyon.
