McQuesten River Bridge — Stewart Crossing Viewpoint
Stewart Crossing sits at the intersection of the Klondike Highway and the Silver Trail (Yukon Highway 11), with the McQuesten River running cold and clear beneath the bridge. For anyone running the Livingstone Creek, Scroggie Creek, or Haggart Creek routes, this is the last solid paved junction before things go dirt. The river view from the bridge is worth the stop — the McQuesten drains a chunk of the Stewart Highlands, and in late summer the gravel bars below are classic Yukon wilderness.
There’s a small rest area and outhouse at the junction. Cell signal here is minimal to nonexistent. Fuel in this immediate area is not available — Pelly Crossing to the west and Mayo to the north are your options. Don’t leave the pavement without a confirmed tank and a contingency plan.
Last paved junction before Silver Trail backcountry.
