Lodgepole Campground — Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest
Lodgepole Campground sits along the American River just a few miles east of Chinook Pass on SR-410, making it one of the most strategically placed camps for anyone running the Naches Trail from the west. The American River runs cold and clear right alongside the sites — it’s one of those camps where you fall asleep to moving water and wake up to it again. Dense lodgepole and subalpine fir keep things shaded and cool. The campground is a proper Forest Service site with vault toilets and fire rings, and it sees solid summer traffic given its proximity to the highway and Rainier’s backdoor. Book weekends or arrive early in the season.
Access is paved right to the campground — any rig can get in. From here you’re positioned to drop into the upper Naches Trail corridor or push west toward Rainier. Season is typically July through late September depending on snowpack at the pass. Fishing the American River out front is a legitimate side activity.
