Kisatchie National Forest Kincaid Recreation Area
Kincaid Recreation Area sits on the shores of Kincaid Lake in the heart of Kisatchie National Forest, offering 41 developed campsites with tables, fire rings, and nearby restrooms. The campground stays busy on weekends during spring and fall but quiets down midweek. Most sites can handle larger rigs, and there’s decent spacing between sites with mixed pine and hardwood shade.
Access is straightforward via paved Forest Road 59A off Highway 165. The area serves as a solid basecamp for exploring the deeper forest roads and connects to several hiking trails including the Caroline Dormon Trail. Lake swimming is allowed, and there’s a boat ramp for small watercraft.
