Ken’s Lake Dispersed Camping
This BLM area surrounds Ken’s Lake, a small reservoir that’s become ground zero for Moab’s dirt bike and ATV crowd. Scattered camping spots dot the red dirt hills around the water, with plenty of room to spread out and claim your piece of desert. The lake itself is decent for swimming when water levels are up, though it’s more mud puddle than alpine paradise. Expect noise from off-road toys during busy weekends, but weekdays can be surprisingly quiet.
Access is on good gravel roads from Highway 191, about 15 minutes east of Moab. No facilities beyond fire rings at some spots, so pack everything you need including water. The area can get dusty when windy, and summer afternoons are brutal with zero shade.
