Hickory Creek Dispersed Area

This dispersed camping area stretches along a half-mile of Hickory Creek, offering 8-10 informal sites accessible via Forest Road 178. Sites vary from creek-side spots suitable for smaller rigs to higher benches that can accommodate larger setups. The creek runs year-round and provides a reliable water source after proper treatment. Fire rings exist at most established sites, built by previous campers.

Forest Road 178 is maintained gravel for the first 2 miles, then transitions to rougher dirt with some rocky sections requiring high-clearance vehicles. The area sees moderate use from local anglers and hunters, particularly busy during deer season (October-January). No services or trash pickup — pack it out. 14-day limit enforced by occasional Forest Service patrols.
