This well-marked trailhead off the Bow Valley Parkway provides access to Heart Creek’s canyon trail system, a favorite among locals for its easy creek scrambling and small waterfalls. The main trail follows the creek bed upstream through a narrow limestone canyon before opening into wider alpine terrain. Parking area holds about 30 vehicles but fills early on summer weekends.
Located just off Highway 1A between Canmore and Lake Louise, the trailhead is easily accessible for any vehicle. The creek can run high during spring melt, making scrambling more challenging. Some sections require basic rock hopping skills. No facilities at the trailhead itself.
