Grew Creek Territorial Campground — Alaska Highway
Grew Creek sits along the Alaska Highway roughly between Whitehorse and Haines Junction, making it a legitimate stopover for overlanders pushing toward Kluane Lake, the Donjek Route, or the Dezadeash Lake backcountry. It’s a no-frills Yukon territorial campground — pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and enough space to swing a rig with a trailer. Crowds are light compared to Pine Lake or Congdon Creek further west. Expect the standard boreal setup: spruce and poplar, a creek nearby, and genuine quiet.
Accessible to any 2WD vehicle — it’s right off the Alaska Highway. Open typically late May through mid-September depending on conditions. The Yukon government manages it under the territorial campground network; nightly fee collected via self-registration iron ranger. Confirm current rates with Government of Yukon before rolling in.
