Governor Dodge State Park
Set in the rolling hills of south-central Wisconsin’s driftless area, Governor Dodge spreads its campgrounds across wooded ridges with decent spacing between sites. The main campground sits on higher ground with electrical hookups, while the more primitive Cox Hollow area drops down into the valley with vault toilets and no hookups. Most sites handle big rigs fine, though a few are tight for longer setups.
The park stays busy Memorial Day through Labor Day, especially weekends. Spring and fall offer better solitude and the bluff views really shine when the leaves turn. Winter camping available but water gets shut off November through March.
