This creek crossing sits about 16km north of Marree where Frome Creek cuts across the Birdsville Track. It’s a natural camping spot with scattered shade from river red gums and coolabahs, plus reliable water flow most of the year. The old Ghan railway embankment runs parallel here — you can still see the bridge pylons from when the train crossed this same creek heading north to Alice Springs.
Access is straightforward off the main track, though the creek bed can be boggy after rain. The crossing itself is usually shallow and sandy, but check water levels during wet seasons. No facilities, just bush camping under the trees with good protection from the wind.
