Frenchman Lake Territorial Campground — Campbell Highway
Frenchman Lake Territorial Campground sits on the Campbell Highway in the Finlayson Lake region, roughly between Watson Lake and Faro. It’s a small, quiet lake camp with basic amenities — fire rings, pit toilets, and a boat launch ramp. The surrounding boreal forest and Pelly Mountains backdrop make this feel genuinely remote even though the Campbell Highway runs right past it. Grayling and lake trout fishing in the lake. Low traffic compared to the Alaska Highway corridor; you may have the place to yourself mid-week in summer.
The Campbell Highway is maintained gravel — passable for high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions but can get rough and muddy in wet weather. Fuel is a long way between communities out here — Faro, Ross River, and Watson Lake are your options. Water source is the lake itself; treat it. Open seasonally, typically June through September. Cell service is nonexistent in this stretch.
