Forth Road Bridge — Queensferry Crossing Viewpoint
Pull up at North Queensferry and you’re looking at one of the most stacked engineering shots in the world. The Forth Bridge — that red cantilever beast completed in 1890 — dominates the frame, with the 1964 suspension span and the modern Queensferry Crossing all visible from the waterfront. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overlanders rolling north on the A90 should not skip this. It’s free, it’s accessible, and it’ll stop you cold.
Best light is morning from the South Queensferry side or late afternoon from North Queensferry. The town of South Queensferry has cafes and fuel nearby. Road access is straightforward — any vehicle handles this. Parking at North Queensferry waterfront fills fast in summer.
Three bridges, one frame. Scotland's finest span.
