Ferne Clyffe State Park Campground
Ferne Clyffe’s 41 campsites sit in mixed hardwood forest beneath towering sandstone bluffs and natural rock shelters. Sites have electric hookups and can handle rigs up to 35 feet, though the loops get tight in places. The park’s centerpiece waterfall drops 100 feet into a box canyon accessible by an easy quarter-mile trail, while the 16-mile trail system explores bluffs, creeks, and remnant prairie.
The campground stays busy April through October, especially during fall color season. Winter camping is available but water may be shut off. The park office stocks firewood and basic supplies, but Goreville (8 miles) has the nearest fuel and groceries.
