Cenote Azul Bacalar
This deep cenote sits right on the edge of Bacalar’s famous seven-color lagoon, offering some of the clearest water you’ll find in the Yucatan. The cenote drops down about 90 feet with visibility that seems infinite — locals say you can see the bottom even at depth. Small palapas provide shade, and there’s usually a guy selling cold beers from a cooler. Gets busy with tour groups mid-morning to afternoon.
Access is straightforward — paved road right to the cenote with decent parking for rigs. Open sunrise to sunset, though it’s most peaceful early morning or late afternoon. The water stays a constant 78°F year-round, perfect for cooling off after dusty miles on the peninsula.
