Canadian River Spring

Clear spring water emerges from red sandstone formations along the Canadian River, creating a reliable water source in an otherwise arid landscape. The spring flows year-round and has been used by travelers for generations. Water should be filtered or treated before drinking, but it’s a valuable backup source when exploring the remote grassland areas.

Located off a rough dirt track about 8 miles south of Canadian on county roads. The spring sits in a small grove of cottonwoods that provides some shade. Access requires high-clearance vehicle and can be muddy after rain. GPS coordinates are essential as there’s no signage marking the turnoff.
