Brown County State Park Campground
This 400-site campground sits in the heart of Indiana’s most rugged terrain, surrounded by hardwood forests that explode with color each fall. The park offers both electric and primitive sites, with bathhouses, a camp store, and decent cell coverage throughout most of the campground. Sites fill up fast during peak leaf season (late September through mid-October), but spring and summer offer plenty of availability for spontaneous trips.
Access is straightforward via paved park roads, though the campground sits at the end of a winding route through the hills. The park serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby Brown County Hills trails and Morgan-Monroe State Forest routes. Water and firewood are available at the camp store, and the nearby town of Nashville offers full resupply options.
Premier Indiana state park in the rolling hills.
