Black Hills National Forest Nemo Road Dispersed Sites

Dispersed Camping

A collection of dispersed camping spots along Forest Road 26 (Nemo Road) between Nemo and Deadwood. Sites are tucked among mature ponderosa pines with Beaver Creek running nearby for water access. Several spots show evidence of old mining operations — claim markers and equipment remnants add historical interest. Most sites handle 2-4 vehicles with established fire rings. Popular area that fills up during Sturgis week and hunting seasons.

Nemo Road is maintained gravel, passable by any vehicle. Some pull-offs require backing skills due to narrow road shoulders. Creek water should be treated before drinking. Road can be icy in winter but generally stays open year-round.
