Bahía Concepción — Santispac Beach Turquoise Bay Viewpoint

Bahía Concepción is the postcard shot of the Transpeninsular Highway. Santispac is the first and largest of the bay’s pulloff beaches, sitting about 13 miles south of Mulegé. The water is calm, shallow, and that specific shade of green-blue that makes you wonder why you ever overlanded anywhere else. Hot springs bubble up at the south end of the beach at low tide. Local palapa restaurants sling fish tacos and cold drinks. It gets busy during Baja winter season (November–March) with snowbirds, but shoulder seasons are excellent.

Access directly off Mex-1 — paved pulloff, no 4WD required. The beach itself is sand and can swallow rigs with low-profile tires if you go too soft. Cell signal is spotty at best. No potable water on the beach — top off in Mulegé before dropping in. Fees are collected by locals and vary; expect a few dollars USD per night if you stay.
