BLM Virgin River Gorge — Sawmill Wash Lower Corridor Dispersed Camp

This stretch of BLM ground along the lower Sawmill Wash corridor sits on open desert flats with big views toward the Virgin Mountains limestone ridgeline. You’re on classic Mojave Desert terrain — creosote flats, caliche hardpack, and occasional sandy washes. No developed sites, no signage, no water. Pull off wherever the ground is level and firm. It gets used by hunters in the fall and a handful of overland rigs passing through — otherwise it’s empty. Fire restrictions here track with BLM Southern Nevada’s seasonal orders, so check before you light anything.

Access via Sawmill Wash Road off I-15 or from the Whitney Pocket side. High-clearance recommended — the road has washboard and embedded rock in sections. Cell signal is essentially gone once you’re into the wash. BLM 14-day stay limit applies. Spring and fall are ideal; summer heat here is genuinely dangerous.
