Beinn Alligin — Torridon Massif Summit Viewpoint
Beinn Alligin sits at the heart of the Torridon wilderness in Wester Ross, its sandstone buttresses and twin summits — Tom na Gruagaich and Sgùrr Mhòr — stacked above Loch Torridon like a geology textbook come to life. The rock underfoot is some of the oldest on earth, orange-red and crumbling at the edges, with the Horns of Alligin ridge adding genuine exposure for those who push the full traverse. On a clear day you’re looking out to Skye, the Outer Hebrides, and the entire northwest seaboard.
Access is from the NTS car park at Coire Mhic Nobuil on the Torridon road — a narrow single-track with passing places typical of Wester Ross. The road itself is accessible to any reasonably capable vehicle. This is a foot-traffic viewpoint at summit level; the drive-in staging is the glen floor. Summer weekends fill the car park early. No facilities at the trailhead.
