Olympic National Forest — Falls Creek Campground
Falls Creek Campground sits in the Olympic National Forest near Quinault on the north shore of Lake Quinault, tucked under old-growth Sitka spruce and Douglas fir canopy that keeps things cool and damp even in August. It’s a no-frills Forest Service camp with vault toilets and a handful of sites — nothing glamorous, but solid and well-shaded for the peninsula’s summer heat. Proximity to FS Road 2109 and the Quinault drainage makes it a useful overnight before pushing toward the coast or the interior Olympic Peninsula roads.
The campground is accessed via paved and short gravel roads off US-101 near Amanda Park. Sites accommodate rigs up to about 21 feet without much drama. Summer weekends fill up — mid-week in July or August is your best bet. No hookups, no reservations — first-come, first-served. Rain is a given on the peninsula, even in summer; pack accordingly.
