Wolverine Creek Territorial Campground — Campbell Highway
Wolverine Creek Territorial Campground is one of those places that confirms you’re actually in the Yukon backcountry — sparse traffic, dense spruce, and the sound of creek water doing all the talking. It sits along the Campbell Highway between Faro and Watson Lake, a long stretch of gravel where fuel stops are few and towns are far apart. Standard territorial setup: pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables. No power, no water tap, no cell signal.
The Campbell Highway is generally passable for high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions, but it’s a long gravel haul and washboard sections are the norm. This camp is relevant for anyone running the Ketza River Road out of Faro or pushing east toward Frances Lake country. Carry extra fuel — distances between services on the Campbell are serious. Open late May through September.
Campbell Highway wilderness stop, no frills.
