Frances Lake Territorial Campground — Campbell Highway

Established Campground

Frances Lake is one of the longer lakes in the Yukon interior, and this Government of Yukon campground on its shore puts you deep in Campbell Highway territory — roughly between Watson Lake and Faro. If you’re running the Ketza River Road or probing the south Pelly Mountains, this is your logical overnight. Pit toilets, fire rings, and boat launch access. The lake holds lake trout and arctic grayling. Sparse traffic even in summer means you’ll likely have it to yourself mid-week.

The Campbell Highway to this point is a mix of paved and gravel — passable by any vehicle but watch for soft shoulders after rain. No cell service out here. Fuel up in Watson Lake or Ross River before committing to this stretch. Open late spring through early fall; exact open dates vary by year.

Deep Campbell Highway lake camp, trout water.
