Kwoiek Creek Recreation Site — Fraser Canyon Backcountry
Kwoiek Creek Recreation Site sits on the Kwoiek Creek Forest Service Road northeast of Lytton, managed by BC Forest Service. It’s a no-frills site with a handful of user spots along the creek, fire rings, and a pit toilet — the kind of place that stays quiet because most people blow past Lytton on Highway 1 without looking up. The creek runs cold and clear through most of the season, and the canyon walls give it a closed-in, remote feel even though pavement is only a short drive back. Used by anglers and the occasional hunter more than overlanders, which means you’ll usually have elbow room.
The FSR requires high-clearance — creek crossings and loose rock sections make it a rough go in a stock truck. Road conditions can change dramatically after spring runoff. No cell service once you’re in the canyon. Verify access at the Lytton FSR kiosk before heading up.
