Lillooet — Fraser River Suspension Bridge and Viewpoint
Lillooet sits at the convergence of several major overland routes — the Duffey Lake Road, Highway 12 along the Fraser, and the network of FSRs pushing into the South Chilcotin and Bridge River highlands. The old suspension bridge and the viewpoint above the Fraser gorge give you a proper sense of the terrain you’re about to enter. It’s a working town, not a tourist trap, and the view from the benchlands above the river is genuinely worth stopping for.
This is your last solid resupply and orientation point before heading up into the Noaxe Creek FSR or Potato Hills FSR corridors. Fuel is available here, and the bridge viewpoint doubles as a quick GPS check before you go dark on cell signal. Best light is morning or late afternoon when the canyon walls catch the sun.
Canyon landmark before you go dark.
