Conkle Lake Provincial Park Campground — Boundary Country
Conkle Lake Provincial Park is a legitimate hidden gem in the Boundary Country highlands east of Kelowna and north of Beaverdell. The campground sits right on the lakeshore — about 14 sites with fire rings, pit toilets, and picnic tables. Water from the lake only (treat it). It’s the kind of place that fills on summer weekends with local families but stays quiet mid-week. Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir canopy, good swimming, and the lake itself is clean and cold.
Access is from Beaverdell via Conkle Lake FSR — rough dirt, passable with high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions, a bit greasy when wet. This campground pairs naturally with the Beaverdell-to-Conkle Lake FSR highland loop runs. Reservation system applies in peak season — check BC Parks ahead. No hookups, no showers, no garbage pickup.
