Lac la Hache Provincial Park Campground
Lac la Hache Provincial Park sits on the eastern shore of its namesake lake along Highway 97, squarely in the corridor overlanders use to reach the Chilcotin Plateau, Vedan Lake FSR, and Tatla Lake routes. It’s a real BC Parks campground — numbered sites, fire rings, pit toilets, and a boat launch — nothing fancy but everything you need to reset after a dusty Chilcotin run or before pushing west. The lake is cold and fishable, and the meadows around the campground are legitimately pretty in late June when the wildflowers are up.
The campground is reservation-eligible through Discover Camping and fills on summer weekends, so book ahead July through August. Off-season (September onwards) it tends to open up. Access is straightforward off Highway 97 — any rig makes it in with no drama.
