Tweedsmuir Provincial Park South — Atnarko River Campground

Established Campground

Atnarko River Campground sits right on the river corridor at the southern gateway to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, accessed off Highway 20 near Stuie. It’s a legit BC Parks facility with defined sites, outhouses, and fire rings — not glamping, but not roughing it either. The Atnarko drains grizzly country and the old-growth canopy here is serious. This is a natural hub for anyone running the Chilcotin Highway toward Bella Coola or looping out of Williams Lake on the Farwell Canyon route.

Access is paved right to the turnoff. Campground road is gravel, suitable for any rig. Summer weekends draw Chilcotin Highway travellers so mid-week is quieter. Bears are active — hang your food. Season typically runs May through October depending on snowpack. No hookups, no showers, no cell signal worth mentioning.
