Fishlake National Forest Johnson Valley Dispersed Sites
Johnson Valley sits on the Fishlake Plateau at 9,200 feet, offering a dozen scattered dispersed sites among aspen groves and open meadows. The area provides excellent views across central Utah’s high country, with sites spread along old logging roads and clearings. Most sites can handle large rigs, though some require careful positioning on uneven ground. Fire restrictions typically apply June through September.
Access via FS Road 037 from Highway 25, about 8 miles of good gravel road that can be muddy in spring snowmelt. The area is typically accessible May through October, with peak season July and August when sites fill by Friday afternoon. No facilities or signage – just wide spots along the road system with established fire rings.
