Theodore Roosevelt National Forest Sheyenne River Valley Dispersed Area

Dispersed Camping

Dispersed sites scattered along the Sheyenne River where it cuts through rolling grassland country. Mix of open prairie spots and sites tucked in oak groves near the water. River access at most sites for fishing northern pike and walleye. Fire rings at established spots, but this is prairie country — bring wood or plan on propane.

Access via 158th Avenue SE from Highway 46 near Lisbon. Gravel roads suitable for any vehicle, though some two-tracks to individual sites require high clearance. Spring flooding can make river access muddy through May.
