BLM Dumont Dunes Dispersed Area

Dispersed Camping

Expansive dispersed camping area adjacent to the Dumont Dunes OHV area in the Mojave Desert. Sites scattered across hard-packed desert floor with views of the massive sand dunes. Popular with ATV and sand rail groups, especially on weekends. Can accommodate large rigs and groups. Expect generator noise and OHV activity during peak times. No shade or facilities—bring everything including water.

Access via Dumont Dunes Road from Highway 127 near Baker. Road is well-maintained dirt suitable for any vehicle. Prime spots fill quickly on holiday weekends. Summer temperatures can exceed 110°F, making spring and fall the most comfortable seasons.
