BLM Kennedy Meadows Road Dispersed Area

Multiple informal camping spots dot Kennedy Meadows Road between the general store and the Pacific Crest Trail crossing. Sites range from pull-offs barely fitting one rig to larger clearings that can handle 3-4 vehicles. The area gets heavy use from PCT hikers and hunters during season, but weekday spots are usually available. Fire restrictions typically apply May through October.

Access is via paved Kennedy Meadows Road, then dirt spur roads of varying quality. Some sites require high-clearance vehicles to reach. The area sits at 6,000+ feet elevation, so expect snow closures roughly November through April. No facilities or signage — just raw camping in sage and scattered pine.
