Antietam Creek Natural Spring
Small natural spring emerging from a rock outcrop about 50 yards off the main trail. Water flows year-round at a steady rate, filling a natural pool before joining Antietam Creek downstream. The water is exceptionally clear and cold, even in summer. Local hikers have been using this source for decades—you’ll often see worn paths and occasional cairn markers.
Park at the small gravel pullout near the creek crossing and follow the obvious foot trail upstream. Spring maintains good flow even during dry spells, though access can be muddy after heavy rains. Treat as you would any surface water source. GPS coordinates put you close, but expect a short walk to locate the actual spring head.
