Mirador Río Baker Confluence
This windswept viewpoint offers one of Chile’s most spectacular river confluences — where the milky Nef River joins the brilliant turquoise Baker, creating distinct color bands that stretch for kilometers downstream. The overlook sits on a rocky bluff about 100 meters above the rivers, with unobstructed views of the Patagonian steppe rolling toward distant peaks.
Access via rough gravel road off Ruta X-25, requiring high-clearance vehicle for the final 3 kilometers. No facilities here — just raw Patagonian wilderness and howling wind. Best photography light in early morning or late afternoon. Watch for sudden weather changes and always carry extra layers.
